As a Team Leader in KUKA's annual internal business innovation challenge, I spearheaded a project that was selected as one of the top 5 out of over 250 submissions. My role was to lead a multidisciplinary team with members from three different nations through the process of evaluating and validating a new automation solution to open up new areas of application.

Responsibilities

  • Led an international team of three professionals from different areas of expertise to assess the market viability of our innovative concept.
  • Conducted expert interviews, site visits, and comprehensive market research to gather critical data and insights.
  • Engaged in an intensive learning process regarding innovation methodologies and concept validation at an innovation boot camp.
  • Presented progress and findings directly to the C-level executives at regular intervals, ensuring strategic alignment and transparency.

Achievements

  • Successfully managed and motivated a team to advance a complex project under tight deadlines, resulting in our concept being recognized as one of the top 5 innovations.
  • Developed a deep understanding of market needs and potential application areas, significantly contributing to KUKA’s strategic innovation efforts.
  • Enhanced communication and leadership skills, particularly in high-stakes environments, by reporting to and engaging with higher management.

Skills Developed

  • Advanced project management and leadership in a high-pressure, competitive environment.
  • Expertise in conducting detailed market analysis and user research to guide product development.
  • Proficiency in innovation processes and concept validation, supported by hands-on experience in a focused innovation boot camp.
